Town Hall
Francis Frith 07/10/1822 - 25/02/1898
Summary
Front view of Manchester Town Hall, which was designed in a Victorian Gothic style by Alfred Waterhouse (1830-1905). This photograph was probably taken less than ten years after the Town Hall's completion in 1877. It is shown absolutely square to the camera, with the Albert Memorial before it just slightly to the left of the hall's central clock tower. Three horse-drawn vehicles wait to the right. It is early morning, and the sun is bright.
