Town Hall
Francis Frith 07/10/1822 - 25/02/1898
Summary
A view of the glorious gothic facade off Manchester Town Hall, which was designed by Alfred Waterhouse and opened in 1877. This view looks to the left across a rather empty Albert Square. The Albert Memorial stands to the left side of the image. A small wooden booth, possibly a public convenience, stands to the right. There are some horse-drawn cabs waiting to the left. Although empty-looking, the square is populated by faded figures of pedestrians.
