Summary

A front view of London Road Station, Manchester (later Piccadilly Station). Above the glass awning on the left "Manchester, Sheffield and Licolnshire Railway", on the right "London and North-Western". Below is a list of stations on these lines. The building has a nineteenth-century classical-style facade and a clock in a decorative pediment above the second floor. Horse-drawn cabs wait in line to the left. The foreground is open ground, with a pile of white stones heaped behind a small windowed shelter.
