Design for a Lunette: St Luke

Summary

A young male figure sits on a marble seat with his left leg crossed over his right. He torso turns slightly to the left and his head and eyes are also turned up and to the left looking in the same direction. He has curly hair and a halo around his head. His left arm is outstretched and his left hand points upwards. In his right hand he holds a quill pen which rests on a scroll which is supported by the neck of a white ox whose head is bowed down by the figures' legs. Behind the figure are two female representations of winged angels, both pointing upwards with one of their hand. The male figure and angels are extravagantly robed with sweeping drapery.
