Summary

A portrait of a middle aged man in an ornate frame. The subject is facing to the left with his head turned to face the viewer. He wears a long curly wig and armour. The base of the frame is decorated with a helmet and standard to the left with the hilt of a sword showing beneath the banner. There is a battle scene at the bottom showing a wounded man. The frame is inscribed "LIEUTENANT GENERAL TALMARSH".
