Summary
In the background can be seen tall buildings, in the foreground is rubble on the ground. This scene is after the bombing of Manchester in 1941. Albert Street ran nearly parallel with the river Irwell in the city centre, between Bridge Street and Blackfriars Bridge (it was later renamed St Mary's Parsonage). Edwards was an architect and sculptor who worked for Manchester City Council’s Architects Department.
