Summary

Portrait of a seated man wearing a coat with shoulder cape. The subject is facing to the right and is seen in three quarter profile. His hands are held together on his lap and he is seen from the waist up. His hair is thin and is receding from the forehead and he has heavy jowls. Bosdin T Leech (1836-1912) was the last Mayor of Manchester (1891-2) before the title of Lord Mayor was granted to the city. He was a council member from 1880 until his death. From the Manchester Portraits series of twelve lithographed drawings by William Rothenstein, published in Manchester by J.E. Cornish in 1900.
