Salford Docks

Gertrude Lake 1858 - 1928

Summary

A misty view across water of a large steam-powered boat docked beside a crane arm. Two smaller boats or barges are sailing past. It may be that this work was painted in situ at Salford Docks, as the edges of its paper are perforated with holes, as though the artist had pinned it to a board for secure outdoor painting.
