North East View of Clayton Old Hall Clayton

Summary

A scene showing Clayton Old Hall, near Manchester, from across its moat, swans and ducks swimming in the foreground. The hall and the stone bridge to the left have been carefully delineated in pencil, and the outlines filled in with colour. The bright tones indicate a sunny day. The hall is formed of two parts, the one with a timber-framed black-and white exterior wall, and the other a warm sandstone colour.
