South West View of Clayton Old Hall Clayton

Summary

A view of Clayton Old Hall, near Manchester, looking across its moat and orchard. Swans and ducks swim in the foreground. The moat emerges from beneath a gated stone bridge to the right of the image. The hall itself is partially hidden by small trees, but its four chimneys and decorative cupola on a projecting wing can be distinguished. The bright golden tones show it to be a sunny day.
