A view of the Theatre Royal, Peter Street, Manchester, designed by architects Irwin and Chester and opened in 1845. The theatre is the building with the red flag on top, on the right. We can see up the street to St Peter's Church (since demolished). Traffic, both pedestrian and horse-drawn, passes by, some in bright colours.
