Table Top

Anne Redpath 1895 - 1965

Summary

A still life group on a circular tabletop seen from above. Items on the table include a bowl of fruit, a vase of flowers, a cup and saucer, a decanter and goblet, and other items which are harder to distinguish. The painting has been divided up into a grid of small squares, mostly overpainted in thick dry oils applied with a palette knife, but still visible at the edges of the table. Anne Redpath used objects from her home for her still life paintings.
