Henry Liverseege
James Parry 1805 (circa) - 1871
Summary
A bust-length portrait of Manchester-born artist Henry Liverseege (1803-1832), who faces to the left while looking upwards and to the right. He wears a coat, the prominent lapels of which dominate his slender face with its bright eyes and high forehead. His hair is brushed back in loose curls. His right shoulder appears higher than his left. Liverseege was a painter, and many considered that his early death cut short a career of great promise. Manchester Art Gallery has several oil paintings by him in the collection.
