The Bridge

James Ferrier Pryde 1866 - 1941

Summary

Drawing predominantly in greys and browns, dominated by an arched bridge. Several figures are crossing the bridge. On the right a series of steps lead down to the water. A group of people are gathered at the top of the steps next to a large building, the end of which extends into the scene. While the left side of the picture is brightly lit, the right is in shade, with a heavy cloud formation depicted in contrasting sections of light and dark.
