A riverside landscape with a bridge and small building. The single arched bridge spans the river at the centre midground and the building is on the right bank of the river, behind the bridge. There are three figures on the left bank of the river, a woman and child facing the viewer and a third figure facing them and carrying a pail. To the right end of the bridge are two men carrying wood.
