Summary

Study of male nude seen in profile to left, his left arm is stretched. His right leg is slightly bent, whilst the left one is completely stretched. He is wearing a helmet. There is no background detail. This is a study for the oil painting 'The funeral of a Viking' (accession number 1928.13), the figure represents the man hauling out the boat on the left of the painting.
