Summary

Design for the entrance hall of the Royal Manchester Institution, which is today Manchester Art Gallery's front entrance. Section of entrance hall showing proposed colour scheme and wall treatment- stone colour predominates, blue ceiling, yellow and pink marble. The plaster casts of the Parthenon frieze and metopes, given by King George IV, are shown in position. This drawing (like the others in the collection) comes from an album compiled by George Penrose Kennedy, one of Barry's pupils.
