Portrait study of a man

Federigo Zuccaro

Summary

A reproduction produced by the Vasari Society of a drawing by Federigo Zuccaro. The drawing shows a man wearing contemporary dress and a large hat. He has his right arm reaching out of the picture plane and he is looking out towards the left. He is holding a bundle to his torso with his left hand. He is bearded and the only colour in the work is the fleshy tone of his hands and face. The text for Nos. 12 and 13 are grouped together in the accompanying booklet produced by the Vasari Society. It reads: "Nos. 12, 13 FEDERIGO ZUCCARO (b. 1543; d. 1609) PORTRAIT-STUDIES OF A MAN AND WOMAN Collection of the Duke of Devonshire, Chatsworth. Black and red chalk. No. 12: 25.5 x 14.7 cm.
