Portrait of a Man

Portrait of a Man

Flemish School

Summary

A reproduction produced by the Vasari Society of a drawing from the Flemish School. The drawing shows the portrait of a man turned and looking slightly towards the right. The man has his left hand in front of him and is holding a quill. He has curly hair and is wearing a hat, which falls low over his forehead. Text from the accompanying booklet produced by the Vasari Society: "No. 16 FLEMISH SCHOOL (Fifteenth Century) PORTRAIT OF A MAN Collection of Mrs. Locker-Lampson. Silver-point on white prepared paper. 41.1 x 9.9 cm. (5 9/16 x 3 7/8 in.). A drawing of great delicacy which loses much, as fine silver-point work always does, in the process of reproduction. The monogram of Holbein and date 1543 are, obviously, late additions."
