Summary

A male figure sitting on a throne dressed in ermine-trimmed gown hides his face as a bearded man to his right steps out dramatically and devests himself from a friar's habit. Four courtiers to the left. Another male sits next to the throne with right arm outstretched and a female walks off to the right. This is the 14th print from Volume 1 of 'A Collection of Prints from Pictures Painted for the Purpose of Illustrating the Dramatic Works of Shakespeare by the Artists of Great Britain (1805)'. The print is described 'Duke in a friar's habit, Varrius, Lords, Angelo, Escalus, Lucio and citizens. Isabella, Peter, Mariana, Provost etc.
