Summary

Engraving of a head and shoulders potrait of a young man with long hair, wearing a floppy fabric cap and renaissance style artists' clothes. He is centrally located in a roundel and gazes out of the image directly at the viewer. The roundel is set in a highly decorated moulded plaster frame with acanthus leaves, shells and an old man's head with wings with a shell background. There is a plaque at the bottom of the frame containing an inscription in Latin which includes the name Raphael.
