Manchester Infirmary
James Parry 1805 (circa) - 1871
Summary
View of the Manchester Infirmary pictured after 1792-3, the date of the addition of the north wing. The gardens in front of the infirmary are in the foreground, and genteel promenading men and women are taking the air. The infirmary pool is behind a railing. The infirmary is a large Georgian building, with a pediment clock and a cupola with weather vane. Beyond it can be seen the lunatic hospital (the long, low building), and to the far left of the image are the public baths.
