Summary
Countess Harriet Gower was the daughter of George, 6th Earl of Carlisle. She married George, Earl Gower in 1823, later 2nd Duke of Sutherland. Her daughter is Elizabeth who married George, 8th Duke of Argyll in 1844 and died in 1878. Countess Harriet Gower was a close friend of Queen Victoria and a member of the royal household. She died in 1868.
