West Didsbury, Tripp's Corner, Looking West

West Didsbury, Tripp's Corner, Looking West

Summary

Postcard, with a black and white photographic image printed on one side and written by hand on the other side. The image shows the corner of a wide street. Behind a garden wall to the left is a large house, surrounded by tall trees. This is Didsbury, a wealthy middle class neighbourhood south of Manchester. The street stretches away to the right, where a horse and cart can be seen in the middle distance. The vague outlines of more large villas behind the trees can just be discerned. The card has been sent by Frank in Ilford to Laura in Reading in the summer of 1909. He has just completed a railway journey which was delayed and made him feel stiff the next day.
