Summary

Near Runcorn. The beautiful seat of Sir Richard Brooke, Bart. A Grecian ediface, built on the side of a religious house, which was founded in Stephen's reign. It was besieged by the Royalists in 1643. The present owner has recently opened a very beautiful crypt.
