Harden Hall

Harden Hall

Summary

Near Woodley. Of Elizabethan date, formerly the country residence of the Ardernes, and subsequently of the Alvanleys. The turret at the back, with its circular staircase, is uncommon in old houses. The great Hall, but recently destroyed, was wainscoted and decorated with mural paintings. It is still surrounded by a moat.
