Summary

This is a portrait of the Mennonite minister Lubbert Gerritsz. (1535-1612) of Amsterdam. He is shown in late middle-age, with greying hair and a long, grey beard, dressed in a dark jacket with a white collar, his head turned slightly toward the viewer. There is a dark background within a painted oval frame. This picture is a copy of a portrait of Lubbert Gerritsz. in the Rijksmuseum attributed to 'Studio of Michiel van Miereveld' (inv. no. SK-A-762) and dated 'after 1607'.
