Still Life

Hans Tisdall 1910 - 1997

Summary

Still life group of a white footed bowl with high loop handles, on a draped piece of fabric with two apples lying in the foreground to the right, with another apple in the background to the left. More apples and a leafy apple branch rest inside the bowl. The still life group appears to float in free space rendering this a fairly surreal representation of the still life subject, the painting is stylised and uses cold, unnatural colours which creates a somewhat sinister feel to the work.
