Salford Bridge

Salford Bridge

Summary

A small vignette of Salford Bridge, which crosses the river Irwell between Manchester and Salford. The view is at river bank level, looking across the water to an assortment of old dwellings. The bridge is stone-built and sturdy; on it two people can be seen. On the far bank a woman and child stand. The water is still, low, and reflective. The print appears to be made planographically, but is in the style of an engraving. It is possibly taken from the same book as 1909.642, a view of Salford Cross.
