The Town Hall

The Town Hall

Summary

Image showing the front of Manchester's town hall in 1828, a large neoclassical stone building situated on King Street. Four massive fluted columns support a portico over the entrance, above which is a sculptural group of three figures and two lions, the central figure holding a sceptre in her right hand. People are walking on the pavements in front of the building, and on the road is a small horse and carriage.
