Summary

A view of the canal at Castlefield basin, Manchester, seen beneath two railway viaducts. The nearer has massive columns supporting the tracks, and the further has an arch. There are two barges on the water, and a shelter with a curved roof. The whole is painted in tonal washes of pink, purple and green.
