Summary

Urban scene showing a corner shop at the end of a red brick terrace facing on to a similar terrace, on the left; at the far end of this street is the archway of a viaduct, beyond which are the towering forms of industrial warehouses and factories. In the foreground is an open square with two figure-groups standing outside a house entrance on the right; on the extreme right of the composition are more industrial buildings on a smaller scale. The whole scene is brightly illuminated.
