A Travers Champs (A Walk in the Country) 1899 Edouard Vuillard 1868-1940 Colour lithograph Five separate stones were used to print each of the five colours in this lithograph. The range of this limited palette has been extended where one colour has printed over another. Vuillard has used positive and negative marks to create a range of textural effects; the blue pool at the lower left has marks scratched out whereas the grass to the right has been drawn in.
