Hulme Hall, Lancashire

Summary

View of Hulme Hall, near Manchester, from across the river Irwell. The hall is formed of a jumble of joined buildings, half-timbered and of stone. A man in a sail boat sails by in the foreground. The hall is framed by bushes and trees each side. A low, ricketty wooden fence passes between the hall and the river, one half of it draped in wet washing, put out in the sun to dry.
