Summary

A young woman in loose robes leaning forward and frowning over her bare right shoulder as she carries away the head of a dead man, holding it in her right hand. Lisabetta is the heroine character from the Decameron, (4th Day, 5th Tale) who falls in love with her brothers' friend Lorenzo, who is beheaded by them when the affair is discovered. After he reveals his fate to her in a dream she recovers his head and buries it in a pot, planting it with basil, and finally dies of grief.
